Lunch /Tea Time
We provide a wide selection of healthy, nutritious and homemade food, which is prepared by our cooks, Jacqui and Sue on site in our kitchen.
The children and adults eat together at the table. The children all sit in their spaces and the adult serves the meal. Younger children eat with a spoon and bowl whilst the older children have a plate, spoon and fork before progressing onto the final stage of a knife and a fork. The younger children are also provided with bibs. The children are encouraged to try a little bit of everything, but are not forced to eat anything they really dislike. Most children try many new foods at Nursery when they see that others are eating it too! The children are provided with a hot meal and pudding for both lunch and tea.
Menus for lunch and tea can be found on the parent’s board, outside the kitchen in the main building or there on our website. Allergies and specific dietary requirements are all catered for. All severe allergies will require us to complete a ‘Health Care Plan’ with you. Specific training such as epi-pen and……………………will be completed when necessary.
If your child is staying for tea-after 4.00 pm please collect them from the mobile building.
Snack
We
have snack in the morning and afternoon sessions. This is set up for the
children to come and go to as and when they wish. We ensure that all the
children have at least a drink and we encourage them all to have a piece of
fruit. Basic behaviour boundaries are in place to keep them safe, such as not
leaving the table until they have finished their mouthful. Again an adult sits
at the table and this is used as a social, communication time.
